That’s what JL Productions and Hire creative director Jamie Lea says organisers are trying to achieve through this long-awaited return.
After a four-year hiatus, The Vault in Shepparton is about to be transformed into a candlelit, close-quarters space dedicated entirely to original music.
“I’m thrilled to be busting open the door and have everybody in there,” Jamie said.
The return begins on Friday, May 22, featuring Benny Walker, Yours, Georgina and The Hootie Tooties as the series’ first-ever artist in residence.
The Winter Sessions provides the artist in residence with a platform and space for musicians to develop their art, work and connection to audience.
“The artist in residence is going to be consistent across all the shows,” she said.
“Whereas the support act and the headline act will change every weekend.”
With four ticketed weekends across the wintertime lined up, the collaboration between JL Productions and Hire and HD Productions also offers free live music at the Obertor restaurant to ensure the music is accessible to all.
Guests can expect to see a mixture of new faces, old faces, unknown faces and living legends across each weekend.
The Winter Sessions has a mix of seated table tickets and general admission space, with both seated and standing options.
The full 2026 Winter Sessions runs May 22 and 23, June 19 and 20, August 7 and 8, and September 4 and 5, plus Sunday gigs and Sundays throughout July at the Obertor.
