It was fantastic to see such a strong Benalla presence on display, with the players earning their opportunities through plenty of hard work and consistent performances throughout the season.
To have 12 representatives don the Wangaratta and District Junior Football League jumper is a terrific achievement for the club and highlights the strength of our junior program.

Under-13 trio Jimmy Jackson, Caleb Thwaites and Teddy Sheehan were solid contributors for WDJFL in the 3.5 (23) to 4.11 (35) loss to the MFL, as was Jack Hart as his under-14 side went down by 10 points, 4.6 (30) to 6.4 (40).
The under-15 and under-16 sides enjoyed a much more successful day on the scoreboard, recording comfortable wins and showcasing some excellent football.
It was a comprehensive victory for Benalla quartet Tom Mount, Nicholas White, Charlie Bell and Josh Montgomery in the under-15s, romping to a mammoth 17.17 (119) to 2.1 (13) victory, while it was a similarly dominant showing from an under-16s side that featured Benalla’s Tom Osborne, Noah Langlands, Trevor Maru and Harry Skelton, who helped their side to a 15.7 (97) to 4.5 (29) victory.

Regardless of results, all players represented Benalla and their interleague sides with pride and did themselves, their families and the club proud. Representative football is a reward for the effort put in behind the scenes, and it was great to see that hard work paying off.
The club congratulates all players involved and looks forward to seeing them continue to develop and bring what they have learned back into the Benalla colours for the remainder of the season.
The junior sides will return to action on Sunday, July 12, with the under-12 Reds set to take on Myrtleford and the under-12 Blacks to face Bright, both at Benalla Showgrounds, with Benalla’s under-14 Red and Black sides to face the same opponents, also at the Showgrounds.
Benalla’s under-17s will host Mansfield, too, in what should be a brilliant clash, as they continue to build towards a finals appearance.
