Travelling to Japan for the Chiba X Games at the weekend, Adelberg entered the Moto X Best Trick category at the games already as the most decorated Australian in X Games history with 21 medals, 10 of which were gold, but added to that with another dominant performance.
Having faced issues in putting down a clean run during the recent X Games Sacramento in California, Adelberg had no such issues at the weekend, successfully landing the trick that gave him troubles in the US, a frontflip Shaolin seat grab barhop.
In doing so, he claimed an 11th X Games gold, and 22nd medal overall, while also becoming the sole owner of the title of most Moto X medals in X Games history, breaking the tie with X Games legend Nate Adams.
The Benalla product significantly improved the landing of his flip in Japan compared to Sacramento, and took gold ahead of Spanish competitor Jose Canosa thanks to his trick carrying a higher degree of risk, with his hands the only points of contact with the bike while his feet were completely off it.

Reflecting on the win in a video posted to his Facebook page, Adelberg admitted he was slightly nervous ahead of the competition given his issues in California, but was elated with the outcome.
“Super stoked on the efforts tonight,” he said.
“Both tricks landed clean, gold is always good to get, but just happy to be safe.
“Those ones were scary, I for sure was nervous.
“I under-rotated in Sacramento, I didn’t want to do that again, so I made sure I felt every movement.
“I’m stoked, thanks to everyone at home, sponsors, much love.”
Fellow Australian Ben Richards, who hails from Wagga Wagga, rounded out the podium in third.
The gold also represents Adelberg’s 13th podium finish from his past 14 events at the X Games, making him one of the most consistent performers in the event’s history.
Japan has been a happy hunting ground for Adelberg, who claimed gold at X Games Osaka last year, before going on to win again a week later at X Games Salt Lake City in Utah.
