The Benalla and Winton Fire Brigades will be collecting at the Winton Motor Raceway gates in Huntley St and the beautifully restored HX Holden panel van, the Bumblebee for MND, will be on-site to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. Bendigo Health Foundation will also be there raffling a Corvette for Cancer.
Volunteers will savour egg and bacons rolls for breakfast from the Benalla Rotary Kiosk courtesy of the Austin 7 Club, and the Rotary Club of Sorrento will recruit historic vehicles for their Point Nepean Heritage Motor Show fundraiser in November.
“In addition to providing an exciting weekend of historic motorsport, displays and marketplace, we are pleased to provide opportunities for local and broader community organisations to raise funds and awareness at our event,” Historic Winton Chair, John Kessner, said.
“We ask everyone with spare coins to bring them to donate to our charities at the event, or a card will do the job too.
“Pitching in and helping is a really Aussie thing to do, so all the volunteers who make Historic Winton happen are really happy that many others can benefit through community organisations being with us.”
In addition to on-site support, purchasing Historic Winton tickets online sees our ticket provider Ticketebo support the Trees for Change program with 53 trees planted through tickets sales so far.
“We hope that more than 100 trees will be planted through online tickets sale by the end of the event,” Kessner said.
“Spectators can save $5 per ticket by purchasing them online whilst adding to the tally of trees to be planted.”
The full schedule of events for the weekend can be found at www.historicwinton.org, with links to discounted online tickets and trackside camping bookings also available.
For those in other parts of Australia, 49th Historic Winton will be live streamed on Blend Line TV.
