In the Indigenous Round match against Strathmerton, the girls came out strong and played some fantastic team netball from the first whistle.
It was a closely contested game, with the scores remaining fairly even heading into halftime.
It was a great team performance from everyone, with each player contributing to a hard-fought win.
There are a couple of big games coming up, so the side needs to keep the momentum going, add a few more wins to the tally and push towards finals.
Jerilderie A-grade in their indigenous round: Isabella Westwood, Mia Neessen, Zara Williams, Ella Arnold, Eden Hercus, Ruby Neessen, Tianni Given, Meagan Mauger, Siobhan Flannagan, Miley Conn.
B-grade: Jerilderie 35 def by Strathmerton 81.
After a promising opening quarter, the game began to slip away, with Strathmerton gradually extending their lead to come away with the win.
Despite the result, the girls never dropped their heads and continued to fight hard until the final whistle, showing plenty of determination and resilience.
C-grade: Jerilderie 42 def Strathmerton 35.
A fantastic win against Strathmerton. There were great passages of play and players should be commended for continuing to play their own game.
The defensive end worked tirelessly, getting rebounds and interceptions all game. The mid-court girls ran hard all game and were always there. Offensively there was great movement and support from outside.
C-Reserve: Jerilderie 12 def by Strathmerton 36.
It was a bad loss at the hands of a well drilled and efficient Strathmerton team.
Unfortunately the team seemed to be asleep from the first whistle and couldn’t reign the score back. One highlight was the second quarter which saw the Demons outscore Strathmerton, providing a glimpse of what can be accomplished.
BOC went to Matilda Helps who was strong in defence. Other awards to Sarah Gurciullo and Lauren Hill.
Under-17s: Jerilderie 54 def Strathmerton 28.
The team put together one of their most consistent performances of the season.
From the opening whistle, everyone was switched on and ready to play. They maintained intensity and consistency throughout the entire game, with fantastic movement down the court allowing transition with confidence and control.
Under-15s: Jerilderie 29 def Strathmerton 22.
It was a slow start on a chilly winter’s morning, with both teams taking time to settle into the game. A strong defensive effort in the opening quarter kept scoring to a minimum, with Strathy holding a narrow 3 to 1 lead at the first break.
The momentum shifted in the second quarter, and trailing by just one goal heading into the final quarter, the team dug deep and finished strongly to secure a well-earned win.
Under-13s: Jerilderie 37 def Strathmerton 5.
The team started strongly, setting the tone from the opening whistle with excellent defensive pressure. Defenders created several turnovers, which were converted into well-earned goals through disciplined teamwork.
The mid-court continued to impress, working tirelessly to transition the ball with patience and confidence, creating some excellent passages of play, and the shooters worked well together in the circle, making the most of their opportunities.
Under-11s: Not scored.
A fantastic game and every player should be proud of their efforts.
The team worked brilliantly together, showing excellent teamwork, communication and determination from the first whistle to the last.
It was great to see everyone supporting each other, playing selflessly and putting into practice everything they’ve been working on at training.
