Best was on track at Winton Motor Raceway on Monday with Anderson Motorsport for Super 2 testing, and on Tuesday, he was in the car with Tickford Racing preparing for his co-drive at Sandown and Bathurst.
With Winton off the Supercar calendar this season, this was one of only a few chances that Best could drive some of the most powerful cars in Australian motorsport around his home track.

The Benalla local was pleased with how testing unfolded on Monday afternoon.
“Yeah just a usual test day, we’re running through our program and getting everything ready for Sandown,” Best said.
“Everything is going well so far, and we’ll keep working on what we need to improve on and get the car so it is perfect.”
Best currently leads the Super 2 championship and will have to balance extending that lead and co-driving in the main series in the next two rounds, a task the driver has got used to.
“Obviously, the (Super 2) championship is going pretty well at the moment, but we want to get as many points as possible, and we want to get a few more race wins.
“Hopefully, we can have it all wrapped up before Adelaide, but it doesn’t always work that way, so we’ll just keep working to the best of our abilities.
“I’m not too worried about all the Supercar silly season and stuff; we’ve got the championship to win here, but I’d like to be in the main series next year, but if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.
“(It is) not so much (of a pinch myself moment), I’ve gotten pretty used to it; this will be my third time doing it.
“The double duties will definitely be a challenge, and the new car is very different to any other Supercar (I have driven) before.
“Sandown particularly will be a challenge given that we’re on Sunday we’re still racing Super 2 and the (Sandown) 500.”
You can watch Best co-driving the Tickford Snowy River Mustang in the Sandown 500 on September 17 and the Bathurst 1000 on October 8.
