Gaye Stolsnow
23 August 1945 – 16 July 2025
Gaye Stolsnow passed away suddenly on 16 July 2025, just shy of her 80th birthday.
Gaye was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother Ruth, and her dear brothers Bruce and Wayne. She is survived by her daughter Karen Stollznow, grandson Blade, son-in-law Matthew Baxter; by husband Robert Walker and family; and by son Kalvin Stollznow and his family, all of whom loved her deeply.
Gaye was born in Brunswick, Melbourne, in 1945. She spent many years living on the Northern Beaches of Sydney before making the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, her home. Wherever she lived, she brought warmth and compassion, and people naturally gravitated toward her.
She dedicated her entire career to hospitality, not just serving people, but connecting with them, making them feel cared for and valued. Gaye had an extraordinary gift for kindness, and a way of making strangers feel like old friends. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Gaye loved her morning cappuccino, strawberry milkshakes, long walks along Mooloolaba Beach, and the simple pleasures of life. She found joy in the everyday, and shared that joy generously with others. She was beautiful both inside and out, a rare beauty that always touched those around her.
Gaye lives on vividly in the memories of those who knew her. She’s here still, seen in her grandson’s eyes, echoed in her daughter’s voice, and held always in our hearts and minds.
She left us too soon, but it would always have been too soon.
