The Dockers (11-1) underlined their flag credentials when dismantling reigning premiers Brisbane last week, with Amiss, Patrick Voss and Josh Treacy combining for 11 of their 15 goals.
Fremantle's star forward trio have all regularly hit the scoreboard during a club-record 11-game winning streak, with Amiss (30 goals) and Treacy (28) among Coleman Medal contenders.
Critics had questioned Justin Longmuir's preference for three talls in attack when the Dockers failed to win a final last season, with the coach also regularly picking two recognised ruckmen.
But Amiss, who admitted it took time to adjust to the set-up, never doubted it would work or worried about his spot in the side after former Essendon rookie-listed forward Voss's arrival in 2024.
"There was definitely no thoughts like that," Amiss told reporters on Tuesday.
"It was more, how can we make this work really well, was my perspective.
"You have some struggles when you start playing new structures and whatnot last year.
"Having another pre-season together and being able to build that camaraderie, I think it's been really good for us and I think it's helping out in the field now."
The camaraderie between the attacking trio has helped fifth-year forward Amiss - the No.8 overall pick in the 2021 draft - reach a new level.
The 22-year-old is on track for a career-best goal tally this season, having booted 41 in his second year with Fremantle followed by hauls of 36 and 32 in the past two seasons.
Treacy is also averaging a career-best 2.33 goals per game in 2026 and Voss (20 goals) has added a new string to his bow, playing defensive roles on leading opposition intercept defenders.
"We feel like when we walk out there as a three that we'll really put up a fight," Amiss said.
"It started off with me and Josh, and then Paddy came onto the scene last year and had a really good year.
"To have another pre-season together and train together, learn a lot off each other as well, has been really important."
Amiss added: "We push each other every day. We're out there in the morning doing touch, and we're really physical and stuff in training, so we try and make each other better.
"(We're) all a little bit different, but in the same way."
Treacy is challenging a $1500 fine for "staging" in the win over Brisbane, after he dived forward following contact from opponent Harris Andrews.
He will learn his fate on Wednesday.
Fremantle take on North Melbourne at Hands Oval in Bunbury on Saturday.
