Many will remember Betty for the roles she played while living in Finley but particularly those associated with the Finley Bowling Club.
Originally from her birthplace, Denmark, Western Australia, Betty moved to Melbourne with her family at the age of 15.
She married Keith Boyd in 1948, and the couple moved to Finley in 1966.
Well known for her excellence in bowling, she won four club championships, was involved in many winning pennant teams and competed statewide.
Betty is now a resident at Moyola Lodge in Tatura and enjoyed the company of her son Alan and daughter Heather, along with other family members and friends on her special birthday.
She was particularly excited to receive a Certificate of Honorary Membership from the Finley Bowling Club in recognition of her achievements while a member of the club and her service in many positions including lady president.

Members of the Finley Lions Club were rugged up against the bleak, cold weather on Saturday morning to sell tickets in the wood raffle.
They not only volunteer to do this, they also spend many hours gathering the wood in preparation to be won, keeping many families warm during the winter.
Renee Campbell was the lucky winner of last Saturday’s trailer load.
