More than $500,000 will also be spent on 3.4km of resurfacing works at various locations along the road.
Victorian Roads Minister Ben Carroll said the state government would be spending $780 million on a regional roads blitz, including upgrades to the Hume Fwy, Goulburn Valley Hwy and Murray Valley Hwy.
More than $782,000 will be spent on a major rebuild along part of the Goulburn Valley Hwy, while Murchison will also be a hot-spot for road fixes.
The much-maligned River Rd, as well as Mooroopna-Murchison Rd and Bendigo-Murchison Rd, will also receive work.
A section of the Murray Valley Hwy near Kotupna will also be completely rebuilt at a cost of $216,000 between Davis Ln and Kotupna-Barmah Rd.
Other roads in the Shepparton area set to undergo rebuilding works include Shepparton-Seymour Rd at Moorilim, Rushworth-Tatura Rd, Dookie-Shepparton Rd and Tatura-Undera Rd.
Mr Carroll said it was a major funding announcement for regional Victoria.
“Right across the state, crews will begin repairing and rebuilding the roads that regional Victorians rely on most, connecting people with employment and education opportunities, key freight routes, family and friends,” Mr Carroll said.
State Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said it was important to keep roads up to standard.
“The roads across north-eastern Victoria are vital freight routes for the thousands of farmers across the region — this work will ensure they can get their goods to local and international ports safely and reliably,” she said.
