Kids active with stadium program

It was another massive school holiday program at the Deniliquin Stadium over the last two weeks.

The stadium program had some newly added activities this time around, with a disco last Wednesday encouraging 55 kids to break out their best dance moves.

Stadium manager John Arthur said the program averaged 40 participants per weekday.

Each day promised action from about 9am to 4.30pm, with supervised free play and craft options alongside structured sport activities.

With an aim of promoting active lifestyles and foster a passion to drive community sport, the program also helps children expel an extreme amount of energy.

Mr Arthur said he was thankful to the staff for their assistance in continuing to make the program such a success.

“I’m lucky I’ve got really good motivated helpers.

“They are stars from around town, who have some experience in childhood education and are used to dealing with the kids and keeping them engaged.”
