There’s winning, and then there is demoralising the opposition.
On Saturday night the North East Bushrangers exacted the latter, bulldozing the Melton Thoroughbreds by a blistering 34-point margin.
To sum up the game, Melton was still in it after the first term, but by the half they soon were not.
Well and truly gaining momentum as time passed, Hayden Annett’s men put up 32-points in the last quarter alone to seal the 103-69 win – his side’s most convincing of the season by a country mile.
Lloyd Wright’s 28-point haul headlined the Bushies’ standouts, while Robbie Sartori (15-points, five rebounds), Jordan Hockley (14-points, eight rebounds) Darcy Locke (14-points four rebounds) and Liam Wright (12-points, five rebounds) were also immense.
The North-East outfit will look to build on the result when it faces Whittlesea on Saturday, while the Lady Bushrangers return from the bye against Blackburn.
