Our seniors couldn’t get their game going but again Victor Butler seemed to pop up everywhere and continued his amazing form.
Jamie Dunne was his usual competitive self drawing plenty of attention and gathering many possessions. Ryan Burns was strong over the footy and new comer to the club Lachie Anderson fitted right in, we look forward to seeing his game grow over the coming weeks.

Reserves
On Saturday we hosted King Valley at the Bat Cave, but the visitors were too strong on the day leaving with a win in the reserves and seniors.
A strong northerly wind saw King Valley get off to a fast start in both grades which the Bats couldn’t seem to come back from.
In the reserves Will Cheshire was again fantastic in the ruck with great follow ups. Daniel Hooper seems to be only getting better with age and Andy (Swamp) Ellis was his electrifying self in his first game back after a few weeks.

B Grade
Finally, after a tough few weeks the Bats got their much deserved win on the board. It was so nice for them to have reward for effort.
Like every week, the whole court flowed beautifully, Kelsey Moss, Georgia Thomson and Lacey Carter creating many turnovers in defence with their tight pressure and hands over ball.
The midcourters - Mya Bye, Amelia Gall and Tiffany Osborne controlling the ball through the midcourt to our shooters. And what a week for shooting we had, scoring a whopping 69 goals.
We welcomed a new player into our side, Casey Hearmon, she slotted into our shooting rotation well. Ally Ellis, Poppy Broomhall and Hearmon all on fire with their goals this week.
Looking forward to taking the court again and backing it up with another win next weekend.

Under 17s
The 17s faced King Valley this week and went down 25-46 in a tough contest. The girls showed strong effort across the four quarters and had some really positive passages of play, particularly through the midcourt where they were able to transition the ball well.
While we couldn’t maintain consistency against a strong King Valley side, there were plenty of encouraging signs to take forward.

Evie Ellis had another consistent game in defence, creating turnovers and rebounding strongly. Chloe Culhane worked tirelessly in attack, putting in a determined effort to score for the team.
