Goorambat 37 def by Milawa 56
The bats had a slow start on a wintery day and Milawa took advantage.
In what was a quick-played game the Bats’ passing was letting them down and creating turnovers towards Milawa.
Chelsea Beavis and Olivia Dalton played hard in defence against tall and accurate shooters and their intensity through the game kept the Bats fighting.
At half-time the score had blown out, Goorambat being down 15 goals.
With some regrouping and getting back to basics the Bats came out a different side after the break.
Catherine Dennis, Amelia Skilbeck, Carli Hogan and Georgia Thomson worked hard in the mid court with great flow down court and great defensive pressure to help slow the game down.
Kylie Relf and Sarah Osborne worked the ring well all game and shot well to keep the score line at bay.
Erin Hernan brought great talk and pressure into WD to help the Bats keep their heads high.
The game was played in great spirit and sure it was a great game to watch despite the scoreline.
With lots to improve the Bats hope to get back on the winners’ list when they come up against king valley next week
Best on: Sarah Osborne (Goorambat railway hotel)
Amelia Skilbeck (jenny milner)
Chelsea Beavis (Blooms on bridge)

Goorambat 32 def by Milawa 66
It was a tough day for the Bats girls coming up against the undefeated Milawa side.
At the end of the first quarter the girls were only down by two, but a more polished and experienced Milawa grew on the lead.
Ella Sheehan and Fiona Tolliday again were strong and worked hard rebounding where possible, intercepts across the ring and some great talk throughout.
Chelsea Bamford stepped up in the mid-court and then back into the goal ring where she demonstrated her accurate shooting to be a vital part of her game.
Some great passages of play throughout the game, great intercepts and a really great team moral had by all.
The girls now have their sites set for the upcoming game against King Valley.
Best on Ella Sheehan (Royal hotel)
Fiona Doig (Alyssa Chelsea)
Chelsea Bamford (Dynamic fitness)

Goorambat knew it would be a tough match up against an always-strong Milawa.
The girls tried hard all game with a never-give-up attitude.
Molly Brunner ran hard in shooting with Kate Nolan and Tali Wallace creating some great moves.
Their shooting was accurate, but it was hard to get in with Milawa’s strong defence.
Hannha Botta, Grace Smith and Brooke McNeilly ran hard in the mid-court all game together getting a few intercepts and showing some lovely passages of play.
Marlee O’Kane and Courtney Naughton were on their toes all game to put the pressure on straight-shooting Milawa.
The girls will come up against King Valley next week as they hope to get their second win.
Best on: Hannah Botta (Salt Therapy)
Marlee O’Kane (Hollywood’s)
Brooke McNeilly (Benalla Myotherapy)
