The Katamatite cricketer has drawn the attention of Cricket Victoria following a stellar season with the ball, snaring 28 wickets for Victorian Premier Cricket club Greenvale last season.
The talented seamer’s reward is a place in CV’s Emerging Players Program.
Iddles’ name was called in Victoria Country’s recently announced under-19 development squad, one of 21 players picked to undergo professional on and off-field tutelage.
The pre-season program kicks off at Junction Oval during the winter holidays before the squad faces South Australia in a multi-format series in late September.
Iddles will also have an opportunity as part of the program to audition for Victoria’s under-19 squad to compete in the Cricket Australia National Championships.
“Our specialist coaches bring a wealth of experience to the program, and their knowledge will provide tremendous value as we continue to develop both players and staff,” a Cricket Victoria statement said.
Iddles is the second Katamatite cricketer recognised with a place in the Victorian program, with all-rounder Kepler Lukies progressing through the State pathway.
She started her junior career with Cobram and earned several junior representative selections before making the move to Katty to play senior women’s cricket.
