Saints’ hot streak halted by leaping Lions

Bridie Cantwell, Courtney Aldous and Sophie Rutherford were named in the best players for the Lions, while Kelsey Pallpratt, Chloe Hill and Isabella Riley stood out in the loss for the Saints.

Lions coach Ronni Hager had nothing but praise reserved for Benalla, which now sits in seventh on the ladder.

“They were very good,” she said.

“They had us for the first three quarters.”

In B-grade, Benalla was dealt a 55-16 loss by Seymour, while B-reserve fell by eight goals.

The Saints’ 17-and-under side also went down to the Lions, but the 15-and-under side managed to come up trumps 36-20.
