“I feel my understanding of parents and community gives me the heart for the job as principal, with my approach concentrating on the family and the individual student.”
With a strong emphasis on high literacy and numeracy skills, Harding believes education can be tailored to ensure that a personalised approach is utilised while also promoting individuality in the student.
Dr Harding will share his experience working for ACC homeschooling and distance education programs as stepping stones in creating dynamic learning environments for the school.
His goal is to provide ACC Hume’s students with a high-quality, spiritually-focused education to create an effective and joyful experience for the students, staff and the entire community.
“I believe the staff need to be purposeful with their implementation of Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) and multi-sensory learning,” Dr Harding said.

“But I am also aware of my staff's needs and strengths and it’s my intention to encourage them and to watch them grow.”
Outgoing principal Norm Fitzgerald welcomed Dr Harding to campus.
Dr Harding commended Mr Fitzgerald on the school’s growth during his eight years as principal.
Dr Harding said he looked forward to the next chapter of growth under the school’s philosophy of "well known, well loved and well taught".
The ACC Hume family is excited to invite Dr Harding and his wife Diane to the school community, with both settling in well and connecting with local churches and the community.
