When her good friend Sam was diagnosed with leukaemia at only 12 years old, Alice wanted to do anything she could to help.
“He was and is the happiest most positive person I’ve ever seen go through something so extreme,” Alice said.
“I've seen him going through the treatment and he's kept a big smile on his face the whole time. He's been very brave and has inspired me.

“Seeing him staying so positive throughout it all just makes me think that shaving my head for him is really only something small in return.”
Alice has surpassed every fundraising goal she has set herself and is shaving her hair this week.
“My original goal was to reach $1000 and within the first week I hit that goal,” she said.
“I said that if I hit $2500 I would dye my hair, which I did last week.
“Today (Friday, February 26) I hit my next goal which was $3000.”

Alice said her family had been very supportive.
“My friends think I'm crazy shaving it off, but my family are excited,” she said.
On Monday her fundraising had hit $3105.01, but there is still time to donate more.
