Benalla SES volunteers celebrate Wear Orange Wednesday and seek new members

Wear Orange Wednesday (WoW) is the day communities across Australia wear orange and thank State Emergency Service volunteers for all they do.

Held during volunteer week each year WoW is an opportunity to recognise those who generously give their time to help communities during flood and storm emergencies.

On Wednesday, May 18, members of Benalla SES were outside BWS on Arundel St tin rattling.

Benalla SES member Graham Milner thanked BWS for supporting WoW once again.

“We are here for Wear Orange Wednesday,“ Mr Milner said.

“We’ve come out to BWS and are doing our donation collection.

“We have all our equipment here so we can show people what we’ve got and how we use some of it.

“But we are also using this as an opportunity to recruit more members.

“We’d love some new members to join our unit.

“If anyone would like to volunteer the best way to do that is to give our duty officer a call on 0409 951 115 and make an arrangement to come down to our unit and have a chat.”
