The group hosted a ‘Long Table Brunch’ at Barooga Public School on Saturday, April 18, raising $1000 for the Cancer Council.
Community River Arts secretary and treasurer Fiona Hackett said the event was a success, with good weather and strong community support.
“It was a really good day,” she said.
“We had a delicious lunch, including lasagne, baked potatoes, salads, and dessert options of apple crumble or fruit salad.”
Ms Hackett said the Numurkah ukulele group performed at the brunch and was “fantastic”.

“We also had two guest speakers that talked about their experiences associated with cancer,” she said.
“They acknowledged how important it is to have close family networks and friends supporting you through that process.”
In February, the group held a movie night at Cobram Cinema, raising $500 for the CFA from ticket sales.
Proceeds were divided equally between the Cobram and Barooga fire brigades.
“It’s always great to be able to give back to such a worthy cause,” Ms Hackett said.
The Long Table Brunch on April 18 raised $1000 for the Cancer Council, with 33 people attending.
