After shooting 57 in the first round, 14-year-old Vivien Zhai from Victoria Golf Club followed up with a 66, a total of 123, to claim the Victorian Par Three Championship trophy at Parkland on Sunday.

Playing in cool conditions, she was able to stave off any challenges to win by two shots from former winner Jacquline Baker from Peninsula/Kingswood with a total of 125.

Zhai also took home the Junior 36-hole gross trophy award.
The 36-hole Stableford trophy for juniors went to Parkland’s 13-year-old Indianah Baumann with a Stableford score of 79 points.
Indianah was also the B-grade winner.
Ky’s Terry Thomson looks to sink one.
The senior 36-hole event went to Pamela Howell from Grampians Golf Club.
Pamela also collected the C-grade event as well with 75 points.
The A-grade winner was Leeanne Carmody from Jubilee Golf Club with 69 points.

The 36-hole runner-up was Debbie Tonkin from Parkland on 73 points.
In B-grade, Bella Chen from Yarra Yarra won with 70 points and in A-grade Annie Chapman, Traralgon, on 67 points.

Best Stableford Round one, C-grade, went to Kim Franklin, Goonawarra, 39 points, B-grade Jean Hayes, Woorayl, 36 points and A-grade Tania Dignan, Stawell, 34 points.
Round two best Stableford score C-grade, Sharon Gysberts, Mansfield, 35 points, B-grade Keryn Carmichael, Belvoir Park, 36 points and A-grade Pam Murphy, Goonawarra, 33 points.

A highlight of the opening round of the Victorian Par Three Championships was a hole in one at the 7th by Corowa’s Trish Lethbridge, performing the magical feat in the afternoon round.
