Warning to campers as flood waters continue to rise

Rises are forecast to remain below the minor flood level.

Campers are encouraged to move to higher ground or safer locations.

Campsites, sections of parkland, and areas close to the riverbank are likely to be affected.

Floodwater may impact access tracks, making them impassable to all vehicle types.

Access to some campsites and recreational areas may become restricted.

What you should do

•If you are camping or staying near the Murray River, monitor river conditions and be prepared to relocate to higher ground if required.

•Move vehicles, caravans, camping equipment and other belongings away from low-lying areas before access is cut off.

•Parks Victoria has closed some park access gates due to the rising river levels. These closures are in place for your safety. Do not bypass closed gates or attempt to access closed areas via private farm gates or other alternative routes.

•Do not drive through floodwater or around road closure signs.

•Avoid walking through flooded areas.

•Stay informed by monitoring warnings and following the advice of emergency services and land managers.
